Recycled Corrugated

In the current business climate, we want to know what determines if a box is recyclable.

Current fiberboard manufactured by our primary vendor has approximately 39 percent post consumer recycled fiber. This number will vary depending on raw material pricing.

At the present time, 100% post consumer recycled fiber needs to be forecasted and pre ordered which may extend normal leadtimes. The BoxMaker Inc. is actively pursuing steady supply streams to improve leadtime and board combination choices.

Soy based inks is another factor contributing to recyclability. We have recently received a license from the “American Soybean Association” for the use of soy
component inks.

Let us not forget O.C.C., Old Corrugated Containers.

Waste Age reports:
“The extensive use of corrugated boxes in the American economy makes them the biggest component of the waste stream by weight. Fortunately, OCC is easy to recycle, which makes it the most recycled product by weight and greatly diminishes the amount sent to disposal.”

Looking from cradle to grave should complete recycled corrugated awareness.
